Hanson Cement to join the Builders Merchants Federation
The UK’s Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) has announced that Hanson Cement will become a member of the organisation, effective 1 February 2015.
Hanson Cement, part of the HeidelbergCement group, operates three cement plants in the UK. The building materials producer recently invested in a new Multicem plastic packing plant at the Padeswood cement plant, Wales, in order to meet growing demand.
“Joining the BMF is a natural step for us. We aim to make it easy for customers to do business with us and this brings us closer to an important customer group. It is another important link for our dedicated sales and marketing team who support the builders merchants market,” said Keith Ellis, Hanson’s Commercial Director.
BMF Managing Director, John Newcomb, added: “Hanson is a leading supplier of heavy building materials with a strong merchant presence and a global pedigree. I’m delighted to welcome a heavy-side company with such a weighty profile and look forward to working with them as we strive to represent the wider industry in this election year.”
