The new 6015 hydraulic excavator from the manufacturer Caterpillar is designed to meet the high demands of marl mining. With a bucket capacity of 5.8 m3, it removes the rock from the rock and then loads the dump trucks. The large hydraulic excavator is also equipped with a quick-change device to switch from a rock bucket to a ripper tooth in a short time in order to be able to extract even thick-banked marl layers. After loading, the dump trucks transport the extracted material to the central crushing plant, where it is prepared for further processing in the cement plant.
Modern mining technology secures cement production
Marl and limestone are the most important natural raw materials for cement production in Wietersdorf. Their continuous extraction is an essential prerequisite for the operation of the plant. The annual mining capacity is up to 1 200 000 t. Alpacem therefore regularly invests in the renewal of its mining equipment in order to make mining efficient and reliable. "With the new large hydraulic excavator, we are making targeted investments in the future of our site. A reliable supply of raw materials is the basis for our cement production. At the same time, it is important to us to offer our employees modern and safe working conditions. The ongoing renewal of our mining equipment makes a significant contribution to this," explains Florian Salzer, Technical Director at Alpacem. With the commissioning of the new large hydraulic excavator, Alpacem is continuing the continuous modernization of mining in Wietersdorf.
